Looking back at Greenwich Market’s young entrepreneurs ahead of Young Traders Market Final Saturday 18th July
Throughout April and early May this year, Greenwich Market teamed up with the Academy of Success to help young people run their own businesses in our historic market.
These smart and talented individuals – all locals from within the Royal Borough of Greenwich – took their passions and hobbies and developed them into business ideas with the support of the Academy of Success.
Launching their products and services at Greenwich Market, they demonstrated their determination and dedication by running their stalls for four weeks alongside our regular traders, artisans and boutique shops.
Each one of these young founders brought their own creativity and unique style to their stalls.
Multimedia artist Daisy captivated customers with her incredible artworks and vibrant prints at Melonchunk Media. Danielle’s business, Crème Moi, filled the market with the gorgeous scents of high-quality hair oils and body creams made from natural ingredients. Maie prepared and served fabulous freshly squeezed juices with a Caribbean twist. Tiana used her crafting skills to sell handmade crocheted handbags and beautiful accessories. The artisan ice-cream flavours sold by Oyin, founder of Icy Creams, proved popular with hungry shoppers.
From custom-made press-on nail designs to smooth massage oils at She’a Nature, we were delighted to welcome these young business people to be part of our market community. They served real customers, made local connections, and every trader made money.
Young Traders Market Final 2026 – Saturday 18th July
In the final to the Young Traders Market project, on Saturday 18th July Cutty Sark Gardens will be hosting the London and Southeast Regional Final of the Young Traders Market in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Greenwich Market.
The Young Traders Market will be located alongside the popular Cutty Sark Street Food Market, operated by Greenwich Market, all adding up for a huge array of stalls to explore across Cutty Sark Gardens.
Established in 2012 by the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF), the Young Traders Market aims to showcase the innovative ideas and talent of people aged between 16 and 30 years.
Around 75 young entrepreneurs will be running their market stalls in the shadow of the historic Cutty Sark, selling food, drinks, groceries, and arts and crafts. The judging panel, including local celebrities, will announce the winners at 4pm.
Winners and highly commended entries at the 2025 National Final reflect the high standard and variety of stalls that can be expected this year, with traders selling everything from handmade accessories to Korean street food.
This is the perfect opportunity both enjoy all that Greenwich Market has to offer as well as enjoy sampling the ideas of some of the most creative market traders of the future.
