Love Your Local Market 2026: Make it a Market Day in Greenwich

Greenwich Market is proud to once again be part of Love Your Local Market, a two-week festival (run by NABMA) of what makes markets across the UK special. And in Greenwich – home to one of London’s very best markets – we have a lot to celebrate.

Formed in 1737, Greenwich Market’s historic trading hub – in the heart of the UNESCO Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site – is the centre of this friendly community. At this iconic marketplace, independent traders and creative artisans sell everything from exclusive handmade jewellery and vintage trinkets to homemade cakes, candles and soaps. Shop for unique gifts, browse for pop culture fashions and be tempted by beautiful homewares and artworks. Don’t leave hungry: there’s always a new global cuisine to try at the street-food stalls.

To celebrate and promote the work of our talented traders and street-food specialists, Greenwich Market will be festooned with flags and bunting, and special Love Your Local Market events will run on Thursday to Sunday afternoons from Friday 15th May to Sunday 31st May. Join us for performances from talented jazz, Motown and rock collectives, incredibly soulful singers and a lively Latin band. There’s a magic show and facepainting for the little ones, too.

Make a full day of it and explore beyond the Market to see the beautiful Baroque and Georgian architecture of the Old Royal Naval College, world-class icons like Cutty Sark, and stop for a pint in one of London’s top traditional pubs.

The LYLM fortnight is the perfect time for your next visit, so come and embrace the party vibes and show loads of love for this iconic London market.
